I have been charge $13.97 for an information call to 1900999899 that was never made. When I inquired with Telstra about this they could not give me any information re who the number was directed to. What can you do about this? I'm now going to go over the last few accounts to see how often I've been charged this bogus amount. More fool me for not checking earlier.

Just received a bill that included multiple entries for this number. No one has called this number or knows anything about this number. Average call is 30 seconds and each call costs $16. Charges add up to close to $100. I will be contacting Telco to request that they investigate.

I have just received my April/May phone bill and I too have a charge for $13.97 for "Information Calls". Today I rang Telstra and they informed me that it was this 1900 number. I suspected the kids, and was therefore searching the net trying to find out what service the number belonged to. I Googled the number and here I am, making a complaint. I don't think it was the kids after all. I will now phone Telstrs back and dispute the call.

I also was billed for a call never made to this 1900 number. I rang Telstra to enquire about the $13.97 charge for an "Information Call" and was told the details. As I am the only occupant and DIDN'T call I logged a disputed call. Then was showing it to my daughter who rang it to hear on pickup"You are charged $13.97 for this call" and that's it!!! I'm complaining to Fairtrading.

Billed for $13.97 from Telstra for Surfpin Games Access for 51 seconds – First of all I’m not with Telstra. When I first received the bill, I interrogated the family regarding this call and was assured that none of them made the call. I then fished up my Optus account for that period and could not find any 1900 numbers that were dialed. I then phoned Telstra and they too could not find any record of any 1900 number being dialed, but they did give me the contact number of the billing party which was Mediatel Services (02 900 50050). I then contacted them or at least tried to, but kept on getting a message saying that there was no one at that department to take the call (9:50 am) and that I was to leave a message. Me leave message?, no way… that’s just stonewalling. After a few attempts to get through to “Other” departments I finally left gave in and left a message basically saying that I thought that this 1900999899 number was a scam… I never had a return call to me in record time as I did from them. I spoke to the gentleman on the other end and was told that it was for a game called Runscape and that there was sufficient warning on the game site that indicated that parental authority was required to make the call. If the parent was not aware of the call then I was able to put in a request to recover the charge. This is all fair and good for those who bothered to query it, but what about those that just let it go and pay. These guys just make a killing off the public (kids and then ultimately their parents who have to pay, pay, pay). The strangest thing is that Telstra could not find any record of ANY 1900 number being dialed… BELIEVE IT OR NOT…

I received a bill on my mobile phone for calls made to this number. Charged 44c and $15. Calls were made at 11:30 pm. Both logged as 45 seconds duration (even though second occured 4 seconds after the first. These calls were not made by me or anyone else from my phone. TPG.com.au (provider) are worse than useless at helping with the problem

Our house was broken into while we were at work. On our phone bill on this day two calls were made on our landline to 1900999899 one 45 sec and the other 53 secs at a cost of $14 each. Made phone calls to telstra etc who put me onto a company called mediatel. apparently this number is for Games access - the kid next door had broken in used our phone to get this pin number so he can play computer games. Had never heard of it before so now have barred 1900 numbers on our phone

It has appeared on my 3 mobile account - as a 14 dollar charge. Three explained it was made on a plane that's why it cost so much. I never called this number and was never on a plane on this day. Three explained I would have to call it from a landline and find out what it was. I called from home phone and some recorded voice said thats for using 'sellpin' couldn't quite make it out and then it said dial 0 for pin - as i was trying to get through to someone to query what was going on I dialled zero it then just went blank ???? I would like to pursue this matter further as now I presume my home phone is now charged 14 and I can not find out who these people are.
