Definitie scam/nuisance number, first came up as 02 9037 0830 - keeps ringing back.

Keep getting hang ups after a long silence, goes on for weeks, up to 5 calls per day. Then they finally speak, sound Asian and are obviously lying when questioned about why they are calling, say they are a "customer" and want to confirm business hours and that you are closed on weekends and public holidays. Perhaps they are looking for places to break in to when unnattended? Also tried to ring them back using caller ID number displayed, always says "network congested, try again later" after that annoying jumbled alphabet reciting recording. I really can't see what they get out of all this. I'd love to know who they really are.

Spanish sounding guy was asking us our business operating hours. When I asked why, he said his brother wants to know. Again when I asked for more information, he hung up.

This number came up after I had been halfway convinced to a stupid scam. Asian sounding lady called " Sally" calling to ask me at first 2 survey questions about this Hong Kong based company opening a casino in Canberra. After asked for my address that I gave to send me a free ipod for answering survey (I know I know). Then called back to check my address for ipod. Then told me I was invited to promo night in Canberra and send me a "raffle" tx via email. Then called to say my name had flashed up on screen - I had won 40000.00 HK dollars! Send me a winning claim form via email that I had to fill out with my name address phone numbers and an id of my choice's number then I had to fax to OS fax number. The next day called to say had sent me a copy of my check via email - could I check and verify name correct etc. At this point I came out of my fog of "I really want to win money and update my 1998 Ford laser" delirium and realised it was a scam. When they next called from the mentioned number (incidentially - this is the first call from this particular number - before this it was always from 0261001893 or private caller or overseas caller) and I told them that not only did I know this was a scam (after I let her ramble on at me for a few minutes about how she needed my bank details for money transfer but if I preferred I could open a new bank account just for the money) but that I had reported them to scamwatch Australia and the federal police she then proceeded to abuse me for 3 mins then hung up on me! Soooo - this number is definately one to NEVER answer!!

I recieved this call 3 times 1st from this number then from +6000000000000000000 then from private. i heard someone moaning as if they were trying to talk so ill be contacting police

I got a phonecall at 3am this morning, then 2 more at 10.30am. Why is this allowed to continue when it is so clearly a scam??? Why not cancel the number or block it permantely?

I have received a couple of calls from this number this morning. They don't leave messages and when I answer they hang up.

Just got a few missed calls from this number and when I try and call back it says 'Network Busy". I then managed to get to the call and they hung up before I could get anywhere. AHHHHHHHHH

My husband and i were woken up at 3.59am about a week ago when they called from this number, they hung up so we didn't know who it was. Since then he is getting 2-3 calls a night from a withheld number waking us up. He is on call and isn't meant to turn the phone off.

I received a call from this number last night at 1.30 am. It woke me up and worried me that there may be some sort of emergency which meant I was getting a call at this time. I didn't get to the phone in time to answer, but when I tried to call back multiple times, the phone displayed the 'network busy' message.

They rang my husband's optus mobile number at 2am, and woke my toddler up, that's all I need. My husband who works an early shift, couldn't get back to sleep after that. On call back, the line claims to be temporarily busy.

They rang me about 5am while my little kid still sleep, what the... It happened the same as other, they hung up when u pickup. They rang me on my Optus mobile, any one or goverment can do any thing about that number. Ban them on the business and put that boss in jail for harassment.

Rang at 1:47 in the morning. Hung up as I answered. On call back it was "temporarily congested"!

They called me today to trade stocks and shares! I told them I was not interested and advised that their prospect targeting strategy is a little disjointed. Before I knew it, I was talking to myself! (They hanged up!) HA HA HA!

if it makes u all feel any better today they are annoying me.... thank god for answering machines.... originally i didnt know who it was and tried to call them back on the number but alli got was a message from telstra stating that all their lines where busy and to try again later - theyre busy annoying other people - anyways then i looked the number up on the net and found out it was telemarketers.. HATE THEM WITH A PASSION, WHO WOULD WANT A JOB WHERE YOU LIE TO PEOPLE OR IMPOSE ON THEM OR ANNOY THEM ALL DAY? - SCUMBAGS THATS WHO!.

have had 2 calls from this number today on my work desk phone - when I pick up they hang up.

Keeps ringing & doesn't leave a message. When you call back it asks you to enter a PIN!

Can anyone shed some light on who is behind the calls from this number??????? they have called my partner on multiple occasions over the last few weeks, it never calls long enough to actually answer and i have called it and it says press 1 for english so i do as it rattles off a pile of other languages to choose from, then askes for a pin???? WHO IS IT????

I too received the same type of call. I am wondering if they are targeting prepaid numbers because I have not given this phone number to anyone and yet they are able to contact me but my assumption is that this is an AutoDialer

Received a phone call from this number for which i didnt answer because i couldnt recognise it. Then about 1 minute later, a private number called and co-incidently it sounded like the same number of rings. This mobile number of mine only certain people know so i'd also like to know how these people got hold of it.

I got a missed call today, and when I returned the call it was an automated voice service, asking me to choose a language - then input my PIN...when I obviously didn't because I don't have a PIN (not knowing who the call was from???) the voice said "call the customer service phone number on your credit card"...obviously trying to scam me if I had answered the call! CUNTS.

I'm sick of calls from these d/heads wish I could call them back and annoy them all hours of the night like they do to me, I'd love their name and address, why call and hang up I dont see the sence in it, waiting for my next bill to see if im charged if so maybe I'll get another number from my provider, hope someone invents a mobile that you can block numbers with as you can with emails on the pc

I don't know if the two are linked or not (I presume they are), but I've been getting similiar type calls from another number 029115000. I would like to know who's responsible for stopping these calls. I can't block them with my mobile so it would be nice to know who can!
